This provides clear, measurable evidence of my language proficiency across reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Unlike a single assignment or classroom activity, this report gives a broader picture of my abilities as a Modern Language and Culture major at Kennesaw State University. It reflects not only what I learned in one course, but also the progress I have made throughout my studies. My scores were Reading: 9 (Advanced High), Writing: 6 (Intermediate High), Listening: 8 (Advanced Mid), Speaking: 7 (Advanced Low), with a composite score of 7.5. These results demonstrate both my strengths and the areas where I can continue to grow.

One of the most important goals is to develop the ability to communicate effectively in another language while understanding the cultural context behind that language. My reading score of Advanced High shows that I can understand complex texts, identify literary elements, and make inferences. This is especially important because language learning is not only about vocabulary and grammar, but also about interpretation and critical thinking. My listening score of Advanced Mid also shows that I can understand extended speech, media, and different viewpoints with little effort. These are valuable skills because they allow me to engage with authentic materials such as films, interviews, podcasts, and conversations with native speakers.

I feel that I have developed many important skills. First, I have improved my confidence in speaking Spanish. My speaking score of Advanced Low reflects my ability to express ideas clearly and organize my thoughts in conversation. I am now much more comfortable participating in class discussions, giving presentations, and interacting in Spanish. Second, I have developed stronger reading comprehension skills. I can now read texts that include more advanced grammar, unfamiliar vocabulary, and cultural references. Third, I have gained a deeper appreciation for Hispanic cultures, histories, and perspectives. Studying a language also means studying the people who speak it, and this has helped me become more open-minded and globally aware.

At the same time, this artifact also shows me where I want to continue improving. My writing score of Intermediate High is lower than my other scores, which tells me that writing is an area where I need more practice. I would like to become more consistent with grammar accuracy, sentence variety, and creating smoother transitions between ideas. Writing is an essential skill for professional communication, academic work, and personal expression, so I see this as an important goal moving forward.

My plans for continuing to use and develop my skills include practicing Spanish regularly in real-life situations. I want to continue speaking with native speakers whenever possible, whether through language exchange groups, travel, or community events. I also plan to watch Spanish-language films, listen to podcasts, and read books or articles in Spanish to maintain and expand my comprehension skills. To improve my writing, I would like to keep a journal in Spanish and challenge myself to write essays or reflections on different topics. In the future, I hope to use my Spanish skills in my career, whether through working with diverse communities, international opportunities, or positions where bilingual communication is valuable.
